Homecoming Weekend and our 50'th Reunion was fun, fun and more fun!
Here's some stats:
16 brave souls disregarded the rain and showed up for the Scramble Golf on Friday morning. Quite impressive! 8 called it quits after 9 holes, but just as many persevered and continued on to finish the round. Wet, but hungry people came back for a late lunch at Kay & Don Griffith's - with prizes and jambalaya enjoyed by all. Thanks for kicking off the weekend with great enthusiasm.
The casual get-together on Friday evening brought about 94 people together at the Horseshoe Grill. Quite the turnout and a good ice-breaker. Our Homecoming 'float' was packed with 1966 graduates and many more walking the parade route. Between the Sixties music blasting from the float to the multitude of 'protest' signs being displayed - we made a statement! There were less people tailgating at Chessie's this year because of the rain. But the football game was a success - Barrington won 49-20. Go Broncos! On Saturday night, 122 classmates came to Lake Barrington Shores to reconnect and reminisce. It was a special evening. And the finale - 60 people woke up Sunday morning for breakfast at Epicure Bistro, which was delicious!
Thanks to all who worked so diligently to make this event wonderful.
And, thanks to all who came to the events. It was clear everyone wanted to have a great time and it looked like they did.
A question that was brought up at the Reunion was if a list of names/emails could be obtained. Because of privacy issues, we couldn't release any private information without permission. An email has been sent out regarding this request. See copy under "Copy of Email Blasts". We've received permission from many classmates and will be posting the list on this website (see above tab: Permission Given List). An email will be sent out at the beginning of the year to those people who have opted-in to share their information with the password to have access to the list.
Which brings to mind - photographs!
Who took them? How do we get them? What's the deal?
Anna Lee Phillips created a Shutterfly "Share" site and has posted pics from Reunion Weekend. The class picture(s) Bill Altenburg took are there too. The site is ready now: barrington66.shutterfly.com
If you want the Shutterfly password, please email the Reunion Committee (shown below), and we'll shoot you an email with the password.
